“Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

Exodus 3:11

Moses asked a question that has crossed all of our minds. When we are called to serve God or talk to someone about Christ, we automatically think, “Who am I to do this? How can little ol’ me ever begin to serve God? What right and qualifications do I have to be used by God?”

When God calls us, the devil is quick to remind us of our shortcomings and sins. How can we ever begin to think about serving the Almighty God? How can we possibly do it? The answer is found in the next verse: “I will be with you!” (Exodus 3:12)

God will never call us unless He promises to go with us. He gives us the power and strength to do His will. It worked for Moses and it will work for us. Give it a try.

The Fee Fee Annual Picnic was a tremendous success. The event was moved indoor because of the storms. Thank the Lord for our beautiful Family Life Center. It was a perfect place to have the gathering. Everyone played games, fellowshipped, and had lots of food to eat. A great big “thank you” to the Socials Committee for all the hard work that made this possible. Also a big “thank you” to Andrea Baldwin for providing the kitchen help and assisting in the process.

It was very successful with about 300 people attending. It was so wonderful to see the church family fellowshipping in such a great way. We are so blessed as a church.

An update on the roof situation: We have completely new roofs on all of our buildings except the office complex. All known leaks are stopped and our insurance covered the cost. Praise be to the Lord! The bad news is that the office roof has begun to leak (especially over my office). I have temporarily relocated down the hall and our insurance is working with us on repairing or replacing this roof. Pray for it to be replaced. Eventually we will have it all done. Life is always one exciting thing after another but God gives us the grace to go on.

A quick note on the church’s giving: At the end of May we had given almost $40,000 more this year than in 2012. I believe that much of this can be credited to the Stepping Up Together emphasis we had last September. It is amazing what the church family can do when we work together. Thank you for your support and keep Stepping Up Together.

Our church is doing very well and is reaching many new people in our community. Come and help us be all we can be for the Lord.

See you in church,

    Brother Randy

SOUNDS OF SAINTS

Have you ever wondered about the singing of Paul and Silas while they were in prison after being severely beaten? I’ll admit that I am curious about quirky things that really don’t matter, but I sometimes wonder if these two saintly prisoners sang in harmony or unison; were they singing songs that had been composed or were they simply improvising on the spot? I doubt they would have approached the sound of Simon and Garfunkel or your favorite contemporary Christian artists or even the style of Sacred Harp singing, although I would suspect the latter would more closely replicate the timbre of their singing. The most astonishing fact surrounding this event is that the other prisoners LISTENED and God RESPONDED with an earthquake that set them free! The sincerity of their hearts and the obvious deep connection with their Creator was compelling for their audiences of several and of One. Wow! Powerful stuff. Think about it.

Thank you, church family!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my church family for your cards, letters, phone calls, visits and all your expressions of love to me since my open heart surgery on May 1. I am so blessed to be part of a wonderful church family who prays for and goes out of their way to minister to people in all kinds of ways. By the time you receive this newsletter, I should be back to full time again. Once again, thank you for your expressions of love and care for me.

Vacation Bible School!!!

Our VBS is right around the corner—June 24-28. It’s hard to believe that it is almost here! Please pray for the leadership team, helpers and, of course, the kids. Everyone can participate in our VBS! If you are providing leadership during this very important week, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks! And also to the home team (YOU), for providing the prayer support that is needed and welcomed. If you know of any children in your neighborhood, please make it a point to share with their parents that we offer the best VBS anywhere, and try to enroll them or give them the information they need. Thank you for being part of our annual VBS!

See ya Sunday for Bible Study and Worship!

 Bro. Wes
