Springfield Trip
Joe Pewitt and Bill Miller have planned an October 19-20 overnight trip to Springfield, Illinois, the one-time home of our 16th President. Lincoln was probably the most hated of all the presidents in his day and now often considered to be the most loved and respected. Historians tell us that more has been written about “Old Abe” than all other presidents combined. The 200th year anniversary of his birth has brought forth a new material to book stores and libraries. In Springfield we will see a state-of-the-art museum's depiction of young Abraham’s life on the frontier, his rise to political power, the war years and his untimely death and his burial place. The museum is currently featuring a special exhibit based on the new book, Team of Rivals. In addition to Lincoln interests, we will visit the famous Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Dana-Thomas House.
Come join us for this two-day trip to learn about and enjoy this historic figure that has so captured the interest and emotions of a nation for so many decades. The invitation is open to all ages—see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board near the Cornerstone Café.

Resignation
The personnel Committee received and accepted the letter of resignation from David Martin on August 13. The process will now begin to form a Minister of Students Search Committee. Please pray for Bro. David and his family as they seek God’s will and direction. His letter follows:
Fee Fee Baptist Church,
I would like to thank Bro. Randy and the church body for giving me this opportunity to serve here. I have created many wonderful memories and friendships that I hope will last a lifetime. But it is with great sadness that I write this letter. I am turning in my two-week notice that I will be resigning my position as Minister of Students. During this two-week period, I will be using my last two weeks of vacation starting immediately. Over the course of the past several weeks, it has become clear that God is leading me in a different direction. It is yet unclear what God has in store for me and my family, but I know that it will be just as magnificent as my ministry here at Fee Fee. I would covet your prayers as I seek God’s will for my family’s future. Thank you again for your prayers and support. —David Martin
