“Come near to God and he will come near to you.” James 4:8

One of the most important things in a person’s spiritual growth is the time you spend getting close to God. Jamesreminds us that God wants to be as close to us as we want to be close to Him. Our God is not some faraway distance entity but real, warm and loving. He is close by at all times. When we take a step toward Him, He takes a step toward us. Take that step today. You will be surprised how much easier life can be with God at your side.

Sunday was a wonderful day as we had four sets of parents dedicate their children to God. The parents and congregation promised to pray for these children and provide  every resource available to help them grow in their relationship with Christ. I thank God for a church family that is willing to invest in the lives of our children. You provide a place of worship and instruction they need to help them understand and grow in their relationship with God.

We are less than two months away from our mission trip to Ukraine in July. 18 adults and youth are going to help teach a children’s camp. Some tasks include teaching, crafts, sporting exercises, and teaching English classes. They are raising money to help cover the cost of transportation and lodging, but need your help buying supplies to be used for the camp. We need to raise about $5,000 by July to help pay for craft supplies, sporting equipment, transportation, interpreters and meals. You can help by making a donation. If you feel led to do so, please mark your offering “Ukraine Mission Trip”. I know that God has called us to go, so I firmly believe that He will be faithful in supplying our needs. Pray for us as we prepare for this trip. It will make a tremendous difference in the lives of the Ukraine people and the lives of our church family.

We have an opening on our custodial staff. Our daytime custodian has taken another job. This is full-time with benefits, so please pray that God will send us the right person.

Saturday, May 30, at 9:30 a.m. we will have a “First Impressions” brunch in the dining room. This includes all current greeters, ushers, and members of the safety watch team. We are also inviting all new members who have joined in the last two years and anyone who is interested in becoming a part of these ministries. These   ministries are very important to the first impressions people have when they attend Fee Fee. It will only require you to serve once every six weeks. Please make plans now to attend.

God continues to bless us in so many ways. Come and be a part of what He is doing in our church and our community. I will see you in church.

Brother Randy
