“Have no fear of sudden disaster…for the Lord will be your confidence.” Proverbs 3:25-26
2015 is a brand new year. It brings with it many opportunities and promises. It can also bring with it a lot of fear. It is easy to fear the unknown because we like to be in control. Things that we cannot control we often fear. Solomon reminds us that disaster will come into our lives so we must be sure to place our faith and confidence in the only One who knows not only what lies ahead, but also how to handle it. Put your confidence in God and He will ease your fear.
2014 was a great year for the Fee Fee Family. Some of the highlights were the rebirth of our Fee Fee Family Retreat, the explosion of our small groups, thanks to 40 Days in the Word, and the adoption of a church-planting partnership with the Ukrainian Baptist Theological Seminary. We are supporting a church planter, Volodymyr Rodan, who is ministering in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine. I got to visit his church plant and preach one of the first sermons at the kick-off of the mission. Our college and youth will get to sponsor a children’s camp at this mission in July of this year.
2014 was also a good year in giving. We paid down the debt on the Family Life Center to below $150,000, - not too bad since we started at $2.1 million in 2008. We have almost paid off the two new busses we purchased, and surpassed our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering goal by almost $4,000. (Our goal was $14,000.) Our five year pledge commitment on the Family Life Center was completed at the end of 2014. We are left with a balance of under $150,000. Mary Louise and I have committed to continue to pay our pledge amount weekly until this is retired. I want to encourage you to join us so we can retire this debt and give the praise to the Lord.
Our church family has experienced some great things in 2014 but I believe that it is just a prelude to what God has in store for us in 2015. Join the fun by giving, serving, and participating in what God has in store for you.
Please pray for Dave and Donna Potts, John Bell, Dale Heinzpeter, John Harris, and me as we leave on January 15 to travel to Lviv, Ukraine to do some construction work at the seminary. We will be installing showers, toilets, floors, and walls before the students return for the spring semester. We will return on January 25. If you would like to help with the cost of these supplies, see me or Steve Middendorf. Come join us as we place confidence in God in 2015.
See you in church,
