2010 Fulfilling The Promise...Commit Yourself to Prayer
At the present time we have secured 133 Prayer Warriors for the coming year. If you would like to volunteer, please call the church office today! This ministry is open to participants in the Children's, Student and Adult Divisions. On the 25th of each month our Prayer Warriors will receive 5 needs, concerns & situations to prayer for via email. For those of you who don't have or use a computer we will mail you the information.
September Prayer List 1. Pray for our church as we “Embrace a Fresh Start”. As we begin this new church year in September, let us ponder and pray for our Bible Study ministry that it must be Christ-centered, to meet the needs of people, not of the institution. Second, our Worship is the building block of congregational life that is sustained and nurtured by Christ. We are to magnify Him in our worship. Third, God wants His church to grow and grow. Intentional strategies are necessary in order to reach out into the community with the message of God’s love. To serve those not yet part of the Christian faith. Pray that we will be intentional in reaching out to our community. Fourth, God expects our very best. Whatever we do for God and His kingdom, we should give our very best effort. Excellence is the name we give to it. 2. Pray for the following ministry opportunities – “The Sunday Morning Bible Study Ministry “The enlistment of returning workers and new ones for the coming year is paramount. Pray that the right people will be in the right place with enthusiasm! Pray for our people to consider promoting to other classes and departments this year. Many are resistant and frightened to move to a new department. This is one of the barriers to growth. The new year begins on September 5. Praise – Most of the positions have been filled, except for several in the Preschool and Children’s Division. “The Student Ministry” Our youth and college students have a lot of challenges today at school and at home. Pray that their young hearts will always be turned towards God. May they seek encouragement, love and support from our student workers and our new student interim, Kraig Hufstedler and his wife Stephanie. “Bible Presentation to Kindergartener’s” on Sept. 12. Pray that the Word of God will take root in their young lives and grow in knowledge of who God is and how to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus. “Budget Process” Pray for the staff and others who will be working on putting together our budget for the coming year and where God’s money should be used to further the Kingdom. “See ya at the Pole” on Sept. 22. Our students will have the opportunity to stand in unity around their school flag pole to pray and to be a wonderful Christian witness to our community. Pray for their courage to be strong and not to wavier in the face of peer pressure. 3. Pray for our church members with various needs –For those who have health issues and might be in the hospital for surgery, recuperation, and for healing. For those who are struggling with various marriage issues, that God would intercede and that the couples would be willing to do whatever it takes to mend and move forward in a positive way. Pray for our teenagers as they are faced with so many temptations and are pulled in many directions. Pray for our children who are hearing and learning about God’s wonderful plan for their lives. Pray that the children will continue to memorize scripture and hide them in their hearts. Pray for Godly influences on all of our church members. That we would deal with others in a Christ like manner in all things. Pray for those who are on mission for God that He would use them in a mighty way to expand the Kingdom of God! 4. Pray for a way for God to speak to us through prayer… Having an expectant heart – If we are going to hear a word from God, we must come to him expectantly. If we expect God to speak to us, we must learn to position ourselves in a way that we lovingly expect God to do so. We call that faithfully believing in God’s ability to speak to his children. If we are going to hear a word from God, we must be quiet and let God do the talking. Many times we are guilty of doing all of the talking instead of doing some listening to God. So tune out the distractions and tune in that small quiet voice of the Living God. We must also be willing to listen to God patiently; God doesn’t always answer our prayers instantaneously. Some prayers that we share before God, we are simply not ready to hand it, or our faith needs to be stretched, and/or maybe we need to change our lives in order to hear His message for our lives. As we come to God in prayer we must come in total dependence upon the Holy Spirit to hear teach and share truth with us. We are nothing apart from Him who loves us so. 5. Pray for our Called and Support Staff –Pray for the called & support staff members by name. Asking God for His indwelling spirit to lead guide and direct their paths each and every day. To be wise, discerning and helpful in all situations and opportunities they may face. Pray for their families’ health and well-being. Pray for our Pastor Randy as he prepares life changing sermons that will challenge and motivate us to a higher plane of living. Pray for Bro. Wes and the Sunday Morning Bible Study Ministry that it will grow and mature into the useful tool that God wants it to be. Pray for Bro. Dennis as he selects the hymns and praise music each week for all of our worship services. Pray for Kathy Scott as she loves and cares for the children who come each week through various ministries. Pray for Dr. Joe as he directs, plans, and coordinate the ministry with our Senior Adults and for the wise counseling he gives. And now pray for our Student Interim, Kraig Hufstedler as he gets acquainted with our students, parents and the church body at large. Update: We all as a staff appreciate your support and for your prayers. Your prayers on our behalf mean so much to us and we know you are having a real impact upon everything we do. Thank you! If you know of answered prayer, please pass it on to me! Our September theme (focus) for the month is “Embracing a Fresh Start”. Everyone needs a new fresh start from time to time. There is something special about new beginnings! It’s a time to start over or to begin anew. It’s time to recommit our relationships to the Lord and to others. It’s a time to look and see if what we are doing honors God and that we are adding to His kingdom. It’s a time to reflect, but more importantly a time to change direction if we need to. It’s a new day for all of us to embrace a fresh start, so let’s do it shall we! Thank you so very much for praying each day. Thank you and may God bless you in a special way this month. Bro. Wes
