Thinking And Acting Like A Servant Leader

"Whoever wants to be great must become a servant." Mark 10:43

Thinking Like A Servant Leader!

To be a servant leader requires a mental shift, a change in your attitudes. God is always more interested in why we do something than in what we do. Attitudes count more than achievements.

5 Attitudes Of Servant Leaders!

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus." Philippians 2:5 (NIV)

  1. Servant Leaders think more about others than about themselves.
  2. Servant Leaders think like stewards, not owners.
  3. Servant Leaders think about their work, not what others are doing.
  4. Servant Leaders base their identity in Christ.
  5. Servant Leaders think of ministry as an opportunity, not an obligation.

Acting Like A Servant Leader!

"You can tell what they are by what they do." Matthew 7:16

We serve God by serving others.

The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige, and position. In our self-serving culture with its me-first mentality, acting like a servant is not a popular concept. Jesus, however, measured greatness in terms of service, not status. God determines your greatness by how many people you serve, not how many people serve you.

Six Character Traits Of Servant Leaders

  1. Servant Leaders make themselves available to serve.
  2. Servant Leaders pay attention to the needs of their circle of influence.
  3. Servant Leaders do their best with what they have.
  4. Servant Leaders do every task with equal dedication.
  5. Servant Leaders are faithful to their ministry.
  6. Servant Leaders are ok with maintaining a low profile.
